The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) invites you to a public hearing to discuss proposed changes to multiple air permits for New-Indy Catawba LLC.
Draft Permits Available for Review:
On May 13, 2024, DHEC made available three draft construction permits and supporting information:
- Foul condensate stripper system construction permit (CP-50000061)
- Federally enforceable permit incorporating EPA requirements (CP-50000051)
- Ash handling construction permit (CP-50000175)

Date: Thursday, June 13, 2024
Time: 6:00 PM (Doors open at 5:30 PM for sign-in)
Location: York Technical College, Baxter Hood Center, 375 Anderson Road South, Rock Hill, SC
Purpose:
- To gather public input on the proposed permit modifications for the New-Indy Catawba integrated pulp and paper mill.
- To provide an opportunity for residents, stakeholders, and interested parties to voice their opinions and concerns.
Important Information:
- The hearing is formal, and all oral comments will be recorded by a court reporter.
- There will be no question-and-answer period during the hearing.
- Written comments can also be submitted online or by mail before the June 20, 2024 deadline.
