Winthrop Women’s Soccer Draws with Emory & Henry

Rock Hill, S.C – Winthrop women’s soccer was held to a 1-1 draw against Emory & Henry on Sunday night at Eagle Field.

• The Eagles dominated the shot count with a season-high of 27 attempts, including 10 on target, but Emory & Henry’s defense stood firm with eight saves.
• Winthrop took an early lead with Amalie Steen scoring at 5:12.
• Emory & Henry’s goalkeeper, Sophia Wagner, made several key saves, including a shot from Sophia Balliet at 6:04.
• Nicole Eyre equalized for Emory & Henry at 25:04.
• The Eagles had multiple shot attempts throughout the half, but the teams entered the break tied at 1-1.
