TEGA CAY, S.C. — The Tega Cay Men’s Golf Association (TCMGA) kicked off its highly anticipated President Cup this weekend. On Saturday, March 21st, 59 members took to the local greens for the first round of the two-day Net Championship.
With the overall low net score taking home the tournament title—and the highly coveted clubhouse parking spot—the competition was fierce right out of the gate. The field was divided into two prize flights, and both produced fantastic rounds of golf.
Flight 1: A Four-Way Deadlock
The top flight is shaping up to be a nail-biter for Sunday’s final round. Four golfers finished Day 1 in a dead heat, all carding a Net 72 to share the top spot. Billy Hall, Justin “JT” Sutton, Chris Hart Jr., and Phil Potts matched each other stroke for stroke on the leaderboard, setting the stage for a dramatic Sunday finish.
Flight 2: Manes Takes the Early Lead
In the second flight, Dan Manes pulled ahead of the pack with a stellar Net 66 (6-under par), securing a one-stroke lead over Andrew Dunlap, who sits comfortably in second with a Net 67. Vincent Louther remains well within striking distance, taking third place for the day with a Net 68.
