Tega Cay LEO Club Shows Community Spirit Through Service and Growth

The next generation of community leaders is making a big impact in Tega Cay. The Tega Cay LEO Club recently completed a successful service project benefiting the Fort Mill Care Center, demonstrating the power of youth-led volunteerism and community service.

On June 15, the Tega Cay LEO Club presented the Fort Mill Care Center with more than 16 pounds of teen hygiene products and a $1,500 donation to support the organization’s free store, which provides essential resources to families in need throughout York County.

The project was made possible through the dedication of LEO members and the generosity of the community. Members collected donated products and raised funds through social media efforts, the Tega Cay Lions Club Pet Parade in May, and collection bins placed at Carroll’s ACE Hardware and Tega Cay City Hall.

To celebrate the club’s volunteers and recognize an exceptional inaugural year of service, the Tega Cay Lions Club members serving on the LEO Advisor Board hosted the first annual Surf & Splash appreciation event on July 16. The evening brought together current members and welcomed teens interested in learning more about joining the LEO Club.

The event was a tremendous success, featuring surfing, swimming, good food, and plenty of smiles. It also sparked new interest in the organization, with two new members joining that evening and nine additional teens receiving membership applications.

The Tega Cay LEO Club continues to grow as young volunteers embrace leadership, service, and the opportunity to make a difference in their community.
