The York County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video Sunday night showing a suspect who appeared to be dancing while holding a gun during a vehicle theft.
The footage matters to local residents because it comes directly from the sheriff’s office as a warning about ongoing car break ins in the county, and because authorities have not yet said whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the incidents shown.
What the video shows
The sheriff’s office posted the footage to its Facebook page on Sunday, June 28. Deputies said the video was meant to encourage residents to lock their vehicles and bring valuables inside rather than leaving them visible or unattended.
A second clip included in the same post shows a person using a flashlight while attempting to get into a locked vehicle. The sheriff’s office did not specify where either incident took place.
