American Revolution trail debuted in the Olde English District

The Olde English District (OED) unveiled the Backcountry Revolution Trail on June 23, an interactive journey through Revolutionary War sites in north-central South Carolina.

According to a press release, the trail spans seven counties and 15 landmarks, accompanied by educational tools on the trail’s website. Activities include an interactive timeline, a Patriot versus Loyalist quiz, downloadable coloring pages, and more.

What sets the Backcountry Revolution Trail apart is its commitment to an inclusive, comprehensive history,” the release said. Historic women, African Americans and Native Americans are given a spotlight on the trial.

“Moving beyond traditional battle maps, the trail uncovers the deeply personal and under-told stories of the diverse people who stood their ground.

Additionally, “The Olde Stories New Voices” podcast arrives at an indeterminate time in the near future, serving as an audio companion for the trail, the release added.
