Three York County high schools will be represented when the SCHSL boys and girls lacrosse state playoffs open this week, with Fort Mill landing No. 1 seeds in both Class 5A Division 2 brackets.
Fort Mill, Clover and Nation Ford all qualified for postseason play, with state championships scheduled to be held at Irmo on May 8 and May 9.
Boys Brackets
The Fort Mill boys earned the top seed in Class 5A Division 2 Upper State and receive a first round bye. The Yellow Jackets will host the winner of Monday’s matchup between No. 5 seed Nation Ford and No. 4 seed Greenville on May 1.
Nation Ford opens its postseason at Greenville on Monday, April 27. The winner advances to face Fort Mill in the quarterfinals.
In Class 5A Division 1 Upper State, Clover earned the No. 2 seed and a first round bye. The Eagles will host the winner of the No. 6 seed Byrnes vs. No. 3 seed Mauldin matchup on May 2. Clover’s bracket also includes No. 1 seed Dorman, No. 4 Spartanburg, No. 5 Boiling Springs and No. 6 Byrnes.
The 5A Division 1 Upper State championship is set for May 5, with the state title game on May 9. The 5A Division 2 Upper State championship is scheduled for May 4, with the state final on May 8.
Girls Brackets
The Fort Mill girls also earned the No. 1 seed in Class 5A Division 2 Upper State and a first round bye. The Yellow Jackets will host the winner of No. 5 seed T.L. Hanna at No. 4 seed Nation Ford on May 2.
Nation Ford hosts T.L. Hanna in the opening round on Tuesday, April 28. Greenville is the No. 2 seed in the bracket, with Riverside (No. 3), Eastside (No. 6) and the bye teams rounding out the field.
The Clover girls drew the No. 6 seed in Class 5A Division 1 Upper State and will travel to No. 3 seed Byrnes on April 27. The winner advances to face No. 2 seed J.L. Mann on May 1. Spartanburg holds the top seed in that bracket.
