COLUMBIA, SC (April 16, 2026) – A Rock Hill husband gave his wife a lottery ticket that surprised them both with a $200,000 win.
“I scratched it and thought, ‘Is this right?’” the wife told South Carolina Education Lottery officials.
So, she called her husband over to have a look. He studied the ticket he bought at the QuikTrip #1061 on Celanese Rd. in Rock Hill and assured her it was indeed a top prize winner.
“We’re super excited and grateful,” the wife said. “It’s going to help us get caught up on things.”
She says the couple has always enjoyed buying tickets for each other, and they plan to continue that tradition.
The odds of winning $200,000 in the 50X game are 1 in 990,000. Two more top prizes remain in the game.
For selling the claimed ticket, QuikTrip #1061 in Rock Hill received a commission of $2,000.
