Cayden Klapheke scored five goals and Cam Wilcox added four more as the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets surged past the Catawba Ridge Copperheads 14-3 in a cross-town conference showdown Monday night.

The Yellow Jackets (8-1 Overall, 3-0 5A-R3) showcased a balanced offensive attack and a stifling defense to secure the road victory. Klapheke finished the night with a team-high six points, while Wilcox displayed remarkable efficiency, scoring his four goals on just five shots.
Fort Mill’s dominance began at the faceoff X, where junior Chase Foster won 14 of 20 draws, consistently giving the Yellow Jackets’ offense extra possessions. Senior Carson Maloney was also a key playmaker, recording a goal and three assists.

Defensively, sophomore Xander Jantzen led the way with 10 ground balls, while junior goaltender Sean Sholtis anchored the back end with five saves, allowing just two goals during his 44 minutes of action.
Catawba Ridge struggled to find an answer for the Yellow Jackets’ pressure, falling behind early and failing to close the gap in the second half.
Fort Mill hosts Clover later this week in another conference matchup.

Girls Lacrosse: Fort Mill 21, Catawba Ridge 5
The dominance extended to the girls’ side as well, where the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets routed the Catawba Ridge Copperheads 21-5 on Monday.
Playing at home, the Yellow Jackets’ offense was firing on all cylinders from the opening whistle, securing a comfortable conference win. The victory completes a clean sweep for the Fort Mill lacrosse programs over their local rivals for the day.
