Bunny Ears and Badges: Tega Cay Police Partner with Lions Club for Spring Festivities

The Tega Cay Police Department is trading patrol for bunny ears this week as it prepares to host its inaugural “Hoppin’ with the PoPo” community event this Friday. It’ll be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Tega Cay Police Station, located at 7705 Tega Cay Drive.

The Tega Cay Police Department will host the First Annual Hoppin’ with the Popo at the Police Department. This event will feature arts and crafts and a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny.

Designed as a spring counterpart to the department’s popular winter “Crafts and Cocoa” program, the event aims to foster positive relationships between local law enforcement and the city’s youngest residents. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in various arts and crafts projects and take photos with the Easter Bunny.

“Events like these allow our officers to engage with the community in a relaxed, fun environment,” the department stated in a recent activity report. “It’s about building those bridges early and showing that we are here as neighbors and helpers.”

The event is being held in partnership with the Tega Cay Lions Club. While the event is free to the public, organizers encourage families to arrive early, as the photo opportunities and craft stations are expected to be high-traffic areas.

Following the Friday evening festivities, the city’s holiday celebrations will continue into the next weekend. The Tega Cay Lions Club is scheduled to host its annual city-wide Easter Egg Hunt at Runde Park on Saturday, April 4.
