Free Treats and Sweet Deals for National Donut Day

National Donut Day returns this Friday, June 6, and local donut shops in York County are joining in with free treats and special deals for the occasion.

Observed annually on the first Friday of June, National Donut Day started in 1938 as a fundraiser by The Salvation Army in Chicago to honor the women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. Today, it’s widely celebrated with free donuts and promotions from national chains and local shops.

In Tega Cay, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, and across York County, here’s where you can take advantage of donut deals:

Dunkin’
Participating Dunkin’ locations are offering a free classic donut with the purchase of any beverage. Classic donuts include favorites like glazed, chocolate frosted, and jelly-filled. The offer is valid all day on Friday while supplies last.

Duck Donuts
Duck Donuts is giving away a free cinnamon sugar donut to anyone who stops by the store on Friday. No purchase is necessary.

Krispy Kreme
Krispy Kreme fans can stop in for a free donut of their choice—no purchase required. In addition, customers can purchase a dozen Original Glazed donuts for just $2 with the purchase of any dozen at regular price.

Whether you prefer the traditional spelling “doughnut” or the simpler “donut,” Friday is a good day to enjoy one. All offers are available at participating locations, so it’s a good idea to check with your local shop before visiting.
