Search for Missing Swimmer in Lake Wylie Ends in Tragedy; Bessemer City Man Identified

A two-and-a-half-day search for a missing swimmer in Lake Wylie concluded on Tuesday, September 17. The York County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene on East Liberty Hill Road in Clover to investigate a reported drowning. The victim has been identified as Christopher Dellinger, born July 13, 1983, and a resident of Bessemer City, NC. An autopsy and toxicology report are scheduled to be conducted this week, with results pending. The incident remains under investigation by the Department of Natural Resources and the York County Coroner’s Office.
