Fort Mill, SC – The Town of Fort Mill announced Cary Vargo will be the new Town Manager, effective July 15, 2024. Vargo brings extensive experience, having served as Township Manager for Thornbury and Upper Uwchlan in Pennsylvania for a combined 12 years. He most recently worked as CEO of ARRO Consulting, Inc.
Vargo holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Kutztown University, a Master of Public Administration from Villanova University, and an MBA from West Chester University.

The Town Council conducted a lengthy and thorough search to find the best candidate to complement and lead our Town staff and to implement the vision and policies of Council. Cary’s strength is in his leadership and drive. We look forward to working with him to preserve the unique character of our community and to manage the challenges of growth.”

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
