In Health with Dr. Brian: 3 Overnight Oat Recipes to Start Your Day

I love breakfast, however I usually want it to be quick so I can get my day started.
I wanted to share with you three overnight oat recipes that not only taste amazing but also offer a range of health benefits. These recipes are not just convenient and time-saving, but they’re also packed with nutrients to kickstart your day on a healthy note.

1. Classic Banana Nut Overnight Oats:
Combine rolled oats, water (or milk), mashed bananas, a touch of honey, and a sprinkle of chopped nuts.

This recipe is rich in fiber from the oats and bananas, providing sustained energy throughout the morning. Nuts offer healthy fats and protein, while the natural sweetness from bananas eliminates the need for added sugars. Plus, it’s a great way to support heart health with its potassium and magnesium content.

2. Berry Bliss Overnight Oats:
Mix rolled oats with Greek yogurt and your favorite mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries).

Greek yogurt is an excellent source of protein and probiotics for a happy gut. Berries are filled with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that bolster your immune system and promote healthy skin. The oats provide soluble fiber, aiding digestion and keeping you full until lunch.

3. Peanut Butter Protein Overnight Oats:
Blend rolled oats with your choice of water or milk, a spoonful of natural peanut butter, and a dash of chia seeds.

Peanut butter adds a dose of healthy fats and plant-based protein, while chia seeds contribute omega-3 fatty acids and additional fiber. This recipe is great for muscle recovery and maintaining satiety due to its higher protein content.
These overnight oat recipes are a perfect blend of convenience and nutrition, making them an ideal choice for busy mornings.

Preparing them the night before means you can wake up to a delightful breakfast that’s ready to eat.

Feel free to experiment with different fruits, nuts, and toppings to tailor these recipes to your taste preferences.
Here’s to starting your days with a boost of health and energy!
