Fort Mill, SC (Tega Cay Sun) – On Saturday, October 7th, Fort Mill High School clinched victories in both the girls and boys Region 3, 5A Championships at the Fort Mill Aquatics Center. The school dominated with four of six relay event wins. Individual champions from Fort Mill included:
- Olivia Corbi: Girls 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle
- Lila Hadley: Girls 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke
- Ava Corbi: Girls 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke
- Jack Dollyhigh: Boys 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle
- Turner Wiand: Boys 100-yard backstroke
The team is now gearing up for the 5A state meet. The girls will compete on Saturday, Oct. 14, and the boys on Monday, Oct. 16 at the University of South Carolina, Columbia.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
