Tega Cay, SC (Tega Cay Sun) – This November the city of Tega Cay has two city council seats on the ballot. Candidate filing opens on Wednesday, August 9th at 8 am and closes on Friday, September 8th at 5 pm.
Candidates must file in person at the York Government Center, 6 South Congress St., Level 1, Suite 1201, York SC 29745 and the filing fee is $100.00. Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
