Fort Mill to Host Veterans Day Ceremony Honoring Those Who Served

The Town of Fort Mill invites the community to a special Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial located at 106 N. White Street. This annual event will pay tribute to all veterans who have served, with a program that includes powerful reflections, patriotic music, and ceremonial honors.

The ceremony will feature remarks from Mayor Guynn Savage, Fort Mill Town Council members, and the 2024 South Carolina Strawberry Queens. The Fort Mill High School Marine Corps JROTC will lead the Presentation and Retirement of Colors, and members of Fort Mill American Legion Post 43 will perform a Rifle Volley in honor of those who have served. Special musical performances will include The Star-Spangled Banner by Nichole Braasch and America the Beautiful by Eternal Harmony.

LTC Brian G. Forester, Commander of the 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment, 165th Infantry Brigade at Ft. Jackson, SC, will join the ceremony as the honored Guest Speaker, sharing reflections on service and sacrifice.

Event Details:

  • Complimentary Coffee: Knowledge Perk Coffee Co. will offer free coffee for veterans and their families from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Road Closures: N. White Street (between Main and McCammon) will close at 9 a.m. and reopen around noon.
  • Parking: Available at Veterans Park until 10:15 a.m.
