York County, SC — This holiday season, the York County 4-H Teen Council brought cheer to children and families at Levine Children’s Hospital through an inspiring act of service. The teens raised funds to purchase toys, planned their shopping trip, wrapped each gift, and delivered the presents, bringing smiles to young patients and their loved ones.
The initiative was a testament to the 4-H “learn by doing” philosophy. Participants gained valuable life skills in budgeting, teamwork, and empathy while making a tangible difference in their community. From brainstorming and fundraising to the joy of gift-giving, the project allowed these young leaders to experience the rewards of selfless service firsthand.
The project underscores the mission of 4-H to empower youth through hands-on learning and community engagement. The Teen Council’s dedication and thoughtfulness reflect the positive impact of fostering leadership skills in young people while creating meaningful connections within their community.
