LAKE WYLIE, S.C. — State Senate candidate James Burns announced this week that his campaign will award $1,000 to a York County nonprofit chosen by the winner of a community photo contest running now through Election Day.
The rules are simple. Participants visit Papa Doc’s Shore Club, find the James Burns for Senate sign on the property, and take a picture with it. Entrants then post that photo publicly on Facebook, tag both Burns for Senate and Papa Doc’s Shore Club, and send a direct message to the Burns for Senate page with a link to the post so the campaign can track the entry.
From there, it comes down to turnout — the kind that happens in comment sections and group chats. The public post with the most likes at 11:59 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, wins. The winner names the York County nonprofit, and the campaign writes the check.
