Duke Energy and local officials will be testing the outdoor warning sirens around the Catawba Nuclear Station on Wednesday, July 10th, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The 89 sirens within 10 miles of the station will sound for 5 to 30 seconds each. Some sirens may be tested more than once.
This is only a test. There is no emergency at the plant. Local broadcasting stations will not interrupt regular programming.
If there were a real emergency, local radio and television stations would broadcast information and instructions.
