In light of a sudden and severe shortage of election workers, York County’s Voter Registration and Elections Office has announced emergency changes to several polling locations for the upcoming June 11, 2024 elections. This decision follows the provisions outlined in Pursuant to 7-7-910 (B).
Voter Registration and Elections Director Alan Helms made the announcement, ensuring the community that the alternative polling sites have been previously utilized during the Presidential Preference Primaries earlier this year. The State Election Commission and the Chairman of the York County Legislative Delegation were informed of this change yesterday evening.
New Polling Locations:
The specific polling location changes are detailed in the table below. Each new site is familiar to voters as they were operational during earlier primaries.
Notification Methods:
Efforts to notify affected voters about these changes are extensive. Notices will be posted at the original polling locations, and information will be disseminated through press and media releases, a social media campaign, the York County Government website, and SCvotes.gov. Given the urgency, traditional postal mail has been deemed impractical for this notification.
