Tega Cay, SC (Tega Cay Sun) – The Tega Cay Men’s Golf Association Turkey Classic Golf Tournament, a highly anticipated event, concluded on Saturday, November 18th, with an impressive turnout of 126 golfers. This tournament showcased the skills of avid golfers in a competitive yet friendly environment, resulting in some remarkable performances.
In the Handicap Division, the team of Matt Brown, Elton Ramey, Rich Reggero, and Jason Reggero clinched the 1st Net position with a stunning Net 50. Their remarkable coordination and skill set them apart in a fiercely contested category. Following them closely was the team of Larry Elia, Rod Baker, Mike O’Leary, and Steve McKirdy, who secured the 2nd Net with a Net 51. They won the scorecard playoff with birdies on holes 5, 7, 10, and 18. The 3rd Net was grabbed by Jim Popa, Brandon Barnes, Matt Wickswat, and Geoff Newell, also with a Net 51, distinguishing themselves in the playoff with birdies on holes 5, 7, and 18. The 4th Net position went to Larry Grable, Jim Mowery, Chad Smith, and Mike Clyburn with a Net 51, earning their spot with a par on hole 5. The Gross category was dominated by Cleve and Connor Coldwater, alongside Chuck and Neil Kelker, who posted a Gross 53 to take the 1st Gross position.

In the Open Division, the top honors went to Doug Champagne, Jake Rand, Hunter Berke, and Ethan Locker, who showcased their exemplary skills to secure the 1st Gross position with a Gross 53. Close on their heels were Brian, Nick, Matthieu, and Joey Curtis, who finished with a respectable Gross 60, earning them the 2nd Gross spot.

The tournament also featured a ‘Closest to the Pin’ challenge, which added an extra layer of excitement. Brandon Fender shone on hole 4, Scott Dowless on hole 6, Larry Elia on hole 12, and Gary Anderson on hole 15, each demonstrating remarkable precision and control.
