Viking Fight Promotions Hosts Charity Boxing Event to Support Local Officers’ Battles Against Cancer

Fort Mill, SC (Tega Cay Sun) – Viking Fight Promotions recently hosted a press conference at Barney’s Bar in Fort Mill, SC, to announce their “Fight Against Cancer” boxing event. This event, scheduled for December 16 at the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center, features Mike Englert, a sergeant from the Rock Hill Police Department, and Steven Timbs, a sergeant from the Tega Cay Police Department. Proceeds from tickets sold in Sgt. Timbs’ name will support City of Tega Cay Police Department Lt. Lauren Galloway’s cancer treatment.

Sgt. Timbs is a professional boxer who trains at Saint Michaels Boxing Club. The club, a non-profit founded by Sgt. Englert in 2018, aims to divert youth from trouble through boxing. In a significant gesture of support, all proceeds from tickets sold under Sgt. Englert’s name will be donated to Officer Tamar Marshall of the Rock Hill Police Department, who is also fighting cancer.

The event will also recognize Hungry Heroes and the Fort Mill 10-13 Club for their past fundraising efforts for Lt. Galloway. The boxing event, featuring 18 fights, will take place from 5-10 pm. It’s an opportunity for the community to enjoy professional boxing while supporting a noble cause. Tickets are available through Eventbrite, and a pay-per-view option is also offered.
