Defense and Dominance: Tigers Stay Unbeaten with 28-Point Rout of Spartans

Junior forward Edie Clarke logged her second career double-double with 15 points and a career-high-matching 11 rebounds as Clemson women’s basketball defeated UNC Greensboro, 72-44, at Littlejohn Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers improved to 3-0 on the season under head coach Shawn Poppie, securing their third consecutive win by at least 19 points. Clemson opened up a 31-point lead during the game, driven by a dominant defensive effort that forced 23 turnovers and generated a season-high 12 steals. Senior forward Jenna Lawrence contributed 12 points off the bench, knocking down four 3-pointers to score her first points in a Clemson uniform.

Clemson held UNCG (2-1) to just 33% shooting from the field and capitalized at the free-throw line, making 13 of 17 attempts (72%) compared to the Spartans’ 6-for-17 (35%) mark. Gloria Tony and Savannah Robinson-Holmes led UNCG with 13 points apiece.
