Winthrop University volleyball senior setter Lexi Thatcher has been named the Big South Conference Setter of the Week for the sixth time this season, the conference announced Monday.
Since the award was introduced in 2024, only two other players have earned more Setter of the Week honors in a single season: Kamyla Vega David and former Winthrop teammate Isabella Murray.
Thatcher helped lead the Eagles to a 2-0 record last week, recording 58 assists in six sets for an average of 9.67 per set. She also contributed 21 digs and five blocks.
In Winthrop’s sweep of USC Upstate, Thatcher posted 34 assists, 12 digs and two blocks, earning her 11th double-double of the season. She followed that performance with 24 assists, nine digs and three blocks in Saturday’s sweep of UNC Asheville.
Her weekly statistics placed her among the conference leaders in several categories. Thatcher tied for first in assists per set at 9.67, tied for eighth in blocks per set at 0.83 and tied for seventh in digs per set at 3.50.
Her 21 digs ranked second on the Eagles during the week, further highlighting her all-around contribution as Winthrop continued its strong late-season play.
