Hank Parker Headlines Fort Mill Men’s Ministry Dinner Nov. 12

Professional bass fishing champion and longtime outdoor television host Hank Parker will speak at First Baptist Church Fort Mill on Thursday, Nov. 12, as part of the church’s men’s ministry program.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the program runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the church, 121 Monroe White St. in downtown Fort Mill. According to the church’s event listing, Parker will share stories, faith and encouragement with those who attend. The event is open to all adult men and high school men.

Parker won the Bassmaster Classic in 1979 on Lake Texoma in Texas and again in 1989 on the James River in Virginia, according to the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame. He also earned Bassmaster Angler of the Year honors in 1983 and was inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2003. Before turning pro, he guided and fished tournaments around the Carolinas. He became a familiar face to outdoor fans as host of “Hank Parker’s Outdoor Magazine,” which has aired on The Nashville Network, ESPN and other networks.

Dinner and registration

A Carolina barbecue dinner with baked beans, macaroni and cheese and slaw will be served. Registration is required for the meal and costs $20 per person.
