Fort Mill 41, York 6: Yellow Jackets Swarm Cougars in Complete Dominance
Fort Mill put on an absolute clinic on both sides of the ball, cruising to a 41-6 blowout victory over York to maintain a perfect 3-0 start to the campaign.
The Yellow Jackets set a relentless physical tone early. Midway through the first quarter, Kieran McCormack broke the ice with a 23-yard touchdown scamper to cap off a sharp drive. Before York could catch its breath, Broden Mitcheson broke free for a dynamic 46-yard rushing score, pushing the lead to 14-0.
Mitcheson wasn’t finished. Early in the second quarter, he punched in his second touchdown of the evening on a 2-yard goal-line plunge. Fort Mill quarterback Harper Love then put his air game on display just before the half, connecting with Jerrell Douglas for a 7-yard touchdown strike to send the Jackets into the locker room with a commanding 28-0 cushion.
Love picked up right where he left off in the third quarter, dropping a dime to Jameson Terrell for a 20-yard passing touchdown.
While the offense put up points at will, Fort Mill’s defense spent the evening terrorizing the Cougars’ backfield. The blue-collar unit capped off its brilliant performance early in the fourth quarter when Keegan Heisler stepped in front of a York pass and returned an interception 65 yards to the house for a highlight-reel Pick-6. York managed a late 5-yard rushing touchdown by Matthew Tillman to break the shutout, but the night belonged entirely to Fort Mill.
Catawba Ridge 45, Westwood 7: Copperheads Unleash Defensive Avalanches in Blowout Win
Catawba Ridge got back to balanced, high-octane football, dismantling Westwood 45-7 to square their record at 2-2.
The Copperheads took control from the opening kickoff. A balanced aerial attack tore open Westwood’s secondary early in the first half, highlighted by a massive 63-yard touchdown bomb and a 44-yard scoring strike in the second quarter. Coupled with a smooth field goal, Catawba Ridge stormed into halftime holding a comfortable 31-0 lead.
If Westwood harbored any hopes of a second-half comeback, the Copperheads’ defense extinguished them in a matter of minutes. Catawba Ridge forced back-to-back fumbles deep in Westwood territory on consecutive third-quarter possessions. The offense capitalized instantly on both takeaways, converting short fields into quick rushing touchdowns — including a 9-yard score — to push the lead to 45-0.
Josh Crick remained automatic on special teams, converting PATs throughout the evening. Westwood managed a late 5-yard rushing touchdown in the final minutes, but the Copperheads walked off the field with a dominant, momentum-building victory.
Ridge View 50, Nation Ford 7: Falcons Stumble to 0-4
Nation Ford’s early-season woes deepened on Friday night as the Falcons fell behind early and never found their footing in a heavy 50-7 road loss to Ridge View.
Unable to sustain drives or halt Ridge View’s explosive playmakers, Nation Ford surrendered quick points early and was forced into a trailing script throughout the night. The loss drops the Falcons to 0-4 on the season — marking the program’s toughest start to a campaign since 2022.
