Gov. Henry McMaster and First Lady Peggy McMaster have unveiled their official portraits at the South Carolina Governor’s Mansion.
The portraits were commissioned by the Governor’s Mansion Commission and Foundation and will remain on display at the mansion alongside portraits of South Carolina’s former governors.
The portraits were painted by Robert A. Anderson, a nationally recognized portrait artist who has completed more than 250 commissioned portraits of prominent figures in government, academia and business.
Anderson is a graduate of Yale University and studied portraiture at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
The unveiling adds McMaster and his wife to the collection of official portraits displayed at the Governor’s Mansion, documenting their time in state government.
McMaster became South Carolina’s governor in 2017 after previously serving as lieutenant governor. He was elected to a second term in 2018 and a third term in 2022.
