The York County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a man wanted in connection with two vehicle break ins at Fort Mill apartment complexes this summer.
Deputies identified the suspect as Eric Lamonte Johnson, 49, whose last known address is on Sabal Park Drive in Pineville, North Carolina, according to a wanted bulletin released by the sheriff’s office and Crime Stoppers of York County.
The bulletin describes Johnson as bald with brown eyes, 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 200 pounds.
Two break ins at apartment complexes
A 2014 Honda Civic was broken into at The Villas of Fort Mill apartments on July 22 and credit cards were taken, the sheriff’s office said. Those cards were later used at a convenience store in Pineville. Investigators identified Johnson as the person who used the stolen cards after reviewing store surveillance video, according to the bulletin.
On Aug. 5, a 2014 Nissan Rogue was broken into at The Haven at Regent Park apartments and a purse was stolen, the sheriff’s office said.
Both complexes sit in the Fort Mill area of northern York County, where deputies and Fort Mill police have repeatedly urged residents to lock vehicles and remove wallets, purses and electronics overnight.
Johnson has not been arrested and the charges filed against him were not listed in the bulletin. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 803.628.3059 or submit a tip through crimestoppersofyorkcounty.com.
