A McConnells man died Sunday evening after the motorcycle he was riding crashed near the intersection of Garvin Road and Ashe Road, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.
The York County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as John Ramsey Jr., born March 28, 1959, of McConnells. The crash occurred Sunday, June 21, when Ramsey swerved to avoid another vehicle that turned in front of him, lost control of the motorcycle and crashed, the coroner’s office said.
Ramsey was taken to the emergency room at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, where he died a short time later, the coroner’s office said. Coroner’s office staff responded to the hospital Sunday evening to investigate the death.
Pathology and toxicology results are pending. The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the York County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the crash.
