Lancaster County Crash on Rock Hill Highway Leaves Two Dead and Four Injured

Two people were killed and four others hurt Wednesday evening when a pickup truck and a sedan collided at a Lancaster County intersection, the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported.

Troopers responded to the scene at Rock Hill Highway and West Rebound Road at approximately 7:40 p.m. A Ford F-350 pickup truck headed west on Rock Hill Highway and an Audi traveling south on West Rebound Road met at the intersection, where the collision occurred.

The impact sent the pickup rolling onto its side, while the Audi came to rest off the road against a guardrail.

Two occupants of the pickup truck did not survive their injuries. The truck’s driver and one other passenger were taken to Atrium Health. Both people inside the Audi were transported to Piedmont Health with injuries that were not immediately described as life-threatening.

The Highway Patrol had not announced any charges as of Wednesday night and said the investigation remains open.
