A man wanted on an attempted murder charge out of Charlotte was taken into custody by local authorities on Wednesday evening, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies reported a heavy police presence on Village Green Lane, located just off Neely’s Creek Road, at approximately 9:50 PM. The York County Sheriff’s Office deployed units to the residential area to assist the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in locating and tracking the fleeing suspect.
Following a coordinated search of the immediate area, the suspect was located by law enforcement officers and taken into custody without further incident.
As of Thursday morning, official details regarding the identity of the suspect have not been released. Authorities have also not yet made available the specific details or circumstances surrounding the underlying attempted murder charge originating from Charlotte.
The suspect is expected to face an extradition hearing in a South Carolina court before being transferred back to Mecklenburg County custody.
