Baseball Blanks Nation Ford as Lacrosse Brackets Set

The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets are entering a critical stretch of the spring season. With region titles on the line and the postseason brackets finally taking shape, the intensity is at an all-time high — especially for baseball and lacrosse.

Varsity Baseball: Dominance in the Region

The Yellow Jackets (12-12 Overall, 8-8 5A-R3) opened their crucial series against cross-town rival Nation Ford (15-9 Overall, 9-7 5A-R3) with a statement win on Monday night, dismantling the Falcons 10-0. This victory sets the stage for a high-stakes conclusion to the regular season as they look toward the SCHSL Class 5A postseason.

While the first game was a masterclass in efficiency, all eyes are now on the final two matchups of the series:

  • Game 2 (Wed., Apr. 29 @ 7:15p): Fort Mill travels to Nation Ford. After a shutout win at home, the Jackets must maintain their defensive discipline on the road to secure the series.

  • Game 3 (Thu., Apr. 30 @ 7:15p): The series finale at Nation Ford will likely determine final seeding for the state playoffs. With the postseason brackets set to begin in early May, a sweep of the Falcons would provide significant momentum.

Lacrosse Postseason: The Quest for State Glory

Both the Boys and Girls Varsity Lacrosse teams have successfully navigated the regular season and are now deep in the hunt for a state title.

Boys Varsity Lacrosse

The Fort Mill boys have been a force this season, recently coming off a massive 24-0 win against Westside for Senior Night. Their performance has earned them a high seed in the Class 5A-Division 1 bracket.

  • Next Playoff Match: The Yellow Jackets are set to host Greenville on Friday, May 1, at 6:00 PM.

  • Having already defeated rivals like Nation Ford (14-5) and Catawba Ridge (17-5) in the closing weeks, the boys are prime contenders to advance deep into the May championship rounds.

Girls Varsity Lacrosse

The Lady Jackets finished their regular season in dominant fashion, including a 26-1 win over Indian Land and a 21-3 routing of Nation Ford. Their relentless offense has made them one of the most feared teams in the state.

  • Next Playoff Match: Fort Mill will host an opponent (TBA) on Saturday, May 2.

  • With a current top-10 state ranking and a #5 ranking in Division 5A, the girls are looking to leverage their home-field advantage to secure a spot in the state quarterfinals.
