It’s a big night for lacrosse in York County as the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets and the Clover Blue Eagles renew their rivalry across four different matchups tonight. With region standings tightening and the postseason looming, tonight’s quadruple-header is be a pivotal moment for both programs.
Varsity Boys: A Battle for the Top Spot
The marquee matchup takes place in Clover, where the Fort Mill varsity boys (11-2) look to extend their dominance against a dangerous Blue Eagles squad (9-2). The Yellow Jackets currently sit atop the region with a perfect 6-0 mark, bolstered by a narrow 9-8 victory over Clover back on March 26.
Clover enters the night ranked No. 3 in South Carolina Division 5A, led by the prolific Aiden Hawkins, who is averaging a staggering 5.5 goals per game. Fort Mill’s defense will need to be airtight to replicate their previous one-goal victory and maintain their pole position in the region.
Varsity Girls: Fort Mill Looks to Sweep
Back at Fort Mill, the Yellow Jacket girls (7-3) host Clover (7-3) in a battle of teams with identical overall records but different trajectories. Fort Mill is currently a perfect 5-0 in region play and dominated the first meeting between these two teams, a 17-7 victory in late March.
Keep an eye on Fort Mill’s Cece Shia, who has been the offensive engine for the Jackets with 3.0 goals per game. A win tonight would virtually secure the region title for Fort Mill, while Clover is fighting to play spoiler and improve their No. 9 state ranking.
Junior Varsity Matchups
The JV squads will set the tone for the evening with simultaneous starts at 5:30 p.m.

JV Girls (at Fort Mill): This is a revenge game for the Yellow Jackets. In their last meeting, Clover eked out a 5-4 defensive struggle. Fort Mill will be looking to flip the script on their home turf.
