It was a packed weekend for area sports as Nation Ford, Catawba Ridge, and Fort Mill navigated a gauntlet of region play and invitational tournaments. From a historic scoring outburst in boys’ lacrosse to a marathon of softball in the “Lady Rebels Invitational,” here is your weekend roundup.

Boys Lacrosse: Falcons Overwhelm Warriors

The Nation Ford Falcons moved to 2-0 in Region 3-5A with a dominant 25-0 shutout of Indian Land.

Softball: Lady Rebels Invitational Action

  • Nation Ford (7-2): The Falcons had the strongest showing, going 3-1 over the period. After splitting a doubleheader (a 3-1 loss to Hillcrest and a 7-6 win), they dominated with an 8-1 win over Cane Bay and a 9-1 victory over rivals Fort Mill.

  • Catawba Ridge (6-6): The Copperheads started strong Friday night with a 10-0 shutout of Gaffney but struggled through a winless Saturday, dropping contests to Indian Land (4-1), Byrnes (15-5), and West Oak (7-1).

  • Fort Mill (3-6): The Yellow Jackets split their Friday doubleheader against AC Flora (6-4 win, 6-2 loss) before falling to Nation Ford on Saturday.
