Nation Ford High School has officially named Brigette McSheehan as its Athletic Director, removing the interim tag from her title. While McSheehan began the current academic year as an assistant principal, she will now lead the athletic department on a permanent basis moving forward.
McSheehan brings a wealth of educational and coaching experience to the role:
-
Administration: She has served as an assistant principal at Nation Ford since January 2023. Prior to that, she held an assistant principal role at Rock Hill High School from 2020 to 2023.
-
Teaching: Her career at Rock Hill High began in 2012, where she taught for eight years before moving into administration.
-
Coaching: Her athletic roots are deep, having served as an assistant coach for basketball and track at Marvin Ridge High. At Rock Hill High, she contributed as an assistant track coach and led the girls’ JV volleyball and basketball teams.
One of McSheehan’s most significant long-term tasks will be navigating the recently finalized South Carolina High School League realignment. Starting with the 2026-2027 school year, Nation Ford will move from Class 5A down to Class 4A.
Under this new two-year reclassification cycle, Nation Ford will compete in Class 4A, Region 3. This new region will feature a mix of local rivals and familiar faces, including:
-
Catawba Ridge
-
Clover
-
Lake Wylie (the district’s newest high school opening in 2026)
-
Legion Collegiate
-
South Pointe
-
York
This shift to 4A aligns with the SCHSL’s efforts to balance classification sizes and travel requirements, ensuring the Falcons remain competitive within their geographic footprint.
