York County Coroner Identifies Teenager Killed in Yard Work Accident

The York County Coroner’s Office has identified 18-year-old Colton Brown as the victim of a fatal yard work accident that occurred on Friday, Feb. 20.

Brown was performing outdoor maintenance at a residence in Fort Mill when the accident occurred. Following the incident, he was rushed to the hospital by EMS, where he was later pronounced dead by medical staff.

The nature and cause of the injury remain unclear, and autopsy and toxicology results are currently pending. Both the York County Coroner’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office are investigating the circumstances, though officials have stated there is no suspicion of foul play.
