Rotary E-Club of the Carolinas to Dedicate Water Bottle Filling Station at Windjammer Park

Rotary E-Club of the Carolinas will host a dedication ceremony for a new water bottle filling station on Wednesday, March 18 at 12:30 PM at the pavilion entrance of Windjammer Park in Tega Cay. Mayor Carmen Miller will speak, as will Parks & Recreation Director Dustin Overton, and E-Club President Alberto Meloncelli.

The project is made possible through financial support from the Mark Makulinski Donor Advised Fund with The Nature Conservancy and the Rotary E-Club of the Carolinas to the City of Tega Cay for the purchase and installation of the unit.

The bottle filling station will provide convenient access for residents and visitors enjoying the park’s waterfront amenities. The installation of the filling station is a meaningful investment in sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Plastic bottles take centuries to decompose, contributing significantly to landfill waste and environmental pollution. A single bottle filling station can help eliminate tens of thousands of single-use plastic bottles over its lifetime. By encouraging the use of reusable water bottles, the new station at Windjammer Park will help reduce plastic waste and promote environmentally responsible habits. This project aligns with the ongoing service and commitment to sustainability of the Rotary E-Club, having supported environmental projects for more than 5 years.

The public is invited to attend the dedication ceremony and join in celebrating this collaborative effort to support environmental stewardship in Tega Cay.
