The South Carolina High School League announced Friday that the 2026 wrestling duals playoffs have been temporarily suspended due to a winter storm forecast to impact the region over the coming days.
The postseason tournament was originally scheduled to begin Saturday. However, with heavy snow and hazardous road conditions expected across much of the state, league officials opted to halt competition to ensure the safety of student-athletes, coaches and traveling fans.
“We will continue to monitor the weather and its aftermath to determine when the wrestling playoffs may safely resume,” the SCHSL said in a statement.
League officials noted that the delay will likely have a ripple effect on the postseason calendar. Once a new start date is established, the league plans to adjust the schedule for the Duals Press Conferences and the media credentialing window as needed.
The SCHSL urged all participating schools and families to prioritize safety during the inclement weather and thanked the public for their patience.
Further updates regarding rescheduled match times and locations will be posted on the league’s website as conditions improve.
