Walk for Peace Updates Journey Timeline: Pilgrimage Expected to Reach Rock Hill, Fort Mill Mid-January

The Venerable Monks left Columbia, South Carolina, this morning and travelled through Blythewood mid-afternnon on Sunday. They'll be in Charlotte on January 15.

As the “Walk for Peace” continues its cross-country journey, organizers have released an updated itinerary for the coming weeks, highlighting key milestones as the group moves through the Carolinas and toward the nation’s capital.

The pilgrimage, which aims to spread a message of global harmony and mindfulness, is currently on Day 78 of its trek. Based on the latest route projections, the walkers are expected to pass through the Rock Hill and Fort Mill areas on January 13 and 14.

Local supporters and peace advocates are encouraged to mark their calendars for these dates. Whether joining the procession for a few miles or visiting the group at designated rest stops, the organizers welcome community participation as they navigate the final leg of their Southern route.

Updated Arrival Milestones:

According to the latest schedule released today, January 11, the “Walk for Peace” has set the following targets for major locations:

  • January 19: Greensboro, NC

“We want to share our current best-planned dates to help everyone plan ahead if they would like to join us or visit us at these stops,” the organization shared in a statement. “We deeply appreciate the understanding and flexibility of the communities we pass through.”

Organizers noted that while these dates represent the current goal, the route remains subject to change due to weather conditions, safety concerns, and logistics. Supporters are encouraged to monitor the Dhammacetiya Walk for Peace website for daily updates.
