(12/19/2025)– Carter Barrett, of Fort Mill, SC, (29707) was named to PennWest University’s Fall 2025 Dean’s List.
Barrett, a PennWest Clarion student who is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science , was among nearly 3,000 outstanding PennWest students recognized for superior academic performance during the fall semester.
To be eligible for the Dean’s List, degree-seeking undergraduate students must earn a minimum semester GPA of 3.4 while taking at least 12 graded credits.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida. In 2 short years he has won 10 awards from the South Carolina Press Association, including first place in column writing, education beat reporting and best podcast.
