COLUMBIA, SC (December 4, 2025) – A Rock Hill woman says her persistence finally paid off, when after years of playing the lotto she finally won a $248,000 jackpot.
“It feels like I have been playing since I was born,” she joked.
Her lucky day came while grocery shopping at the Food Lion on Cross Point Dr. in Rock Hill. Before leaving the store, she played her lotto numbers. And to her surprise and glee, all five of them matched the Palmetto Cash 5 numbers drawn.
“I was so glad and like ‘Wow,’” she said. “Is this real?”
As for her plans for the long-awaited jackpot, she is going to be debt free and help out some friends.
“I’m not going to let the win go to my head,” she said.
For selling the claimed ticket, Food Lion #1590 in Rock Hill received a commission of $2,480.
The odds of winning a Palmetto Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 850,668.
