TEGA CAY, S.C. — As the holiday season approaches, the spirit of giving is alive and well in Tega Cay. Local businesses have partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program to ensure that less fortunate children in the community experience the joy of Christmas.
Residents looking to make a difference this year can drop off donations at two convenient local locations: Bella Cay Salon and Spa and Tega Cay Tavern.
Bella Cay Salon and Spa, located at 2120 Gold Hill Road, has set up a collection box and is encouraging clients and neighbors to bring in donations during business hours. Tega Cay Tavern is also serving as an official drop-off point, rallying its patrons to support the cause.
The Toys for Tots program, a staple of holiday charity for decades, requests donations of new, unwrapped toys. These gifts will be distributed to children in the local area who might otherwise go without a present under the tree.
Organizers are asking the community to consider donating items suitable for children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. Popular items often include board games, dolls, sports equipment, books, and trucks.
Donations will be collected through mid-December to allow time for sorting and distribution before the holidays. Residents are encouraged to drop off their contributions as soon as possible to ensure every donation reaches a child in time for Christmas morning.
