As part of our continuing effort to bring relevant local news to our readers, we’ve proactively reached out to the candidates running for Tega Cay Mayor and City Council. We’ve furnished them with a series of questions designed to provide the answers you need in order to decide on the candidates who will occupy the available seats.
Leading up to the election on Tuesday, November 4, we will feature one of the candidates along with their responses to a list of questions. We will not manipulate their answers in any way, we’ll simply provide them to you, our readers. This will allow you to make an informed choice. How long have you lived in Tega Cay?
I have resided in Tega Cay for 19 years and 2 months.
What do you believe is the role of the City Council in our community?
The City Council is elected by and serves at the behest of the citizens. Their role is to engage citizens on their wants and needs, set policy, enact ordinances, approve budgets, oversee finance to ensure fiscal responsibility, represent the city in county and state discussions where needed, regulate land use and development with the best interest of the community as their first priority.
What skills and experience do you have that you believe would be beneficial to you as a Council member?
Creating and running a successful company along with running our families budget and activities has taught me how to manage multiple priorities effectively and achieve results. My experience has allowed me to build a solid foundation of skills including strong organizational, leadership, and financial acumen. By working with both large multinational firms and non-profit organizations I have developed a strong ability to turn community input into action and deliver measurable results.
What previous community involvement have you had in Tega Cay or another city?
I’ve always believed that serving your community means showing up, both with your time and your resources. Over the years, I’ve volunteered with and supported several local organizations, a few examples are Girls on the Run, the Tega Cay Lions Club, Fort Mill Care Center, Carolina Dive & Rescue, Rice and Beans, Carolina Ski Team, Children’s Attention Home, Samaritan’s Purse, and many other local causes. In 2022, I was appointed to the Tega Cay Planning Commission, where I advocate for citizen-driven, transparent policies that benefit both homeowners and business owners. In 2025, I was honored to be reappointed for a second term and selected by my peers to serve as Assistant Chairwoman. I was recently chosen to represent the Planning Commission on the 2025 Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee for Tega Cay. Serving the community has always been one of my highest priorities, and I remain committed to giving back to the people and places that make Tega Cay such a special place to raise a family.
What do you see as top priorities for the City and why?
I have three key priorities: keeping our city safe, putting citizens first and economic success.
- Public safety must remain the foundation of everything we do. Tega Cay is known for its family-oriented neighborhoods, close knit community, and outdoor lifestyle, those qualities all depend on residents feeling secure where they live.
- The strength of Tega Cay comes from its people. That means that at the core of every decision made by city counsel, the people of Tega Cay and their interests must be at the center.
- While maintaining Tega Cay’s small-town charm, we must also encourage thoughtful economic growth. This means supporting local businesses and attracting responsible development to expand our tax base, provide jobs, and keep property taxes stable. Balanced growth ensures the city continues to offer high-quality services, beautiful amenities, and a strong sense of community pride all while retaining our small town character.
Have you previously served on a governing board of any type (business, government, non-profit organization, church, etc.) or as a leader in any organization? If so, please briefly describe the organization(s), your role, and the number of years you served in that capacity below.
I have business and leadership experience across multiple organizational types. I have been the Owner and CEO of DobleskeMedia a multi-million dollar marketing business 8 yrs and Owner and CEO JADEL Investments 2 yrs.
What do you believe are the three (3) greatest strengths of the City of Tega Cay?
- Sense of Community: The residents of Tega Cay are engaged, caring, and connected. I am committed to fostering this sense of belonging by encouraging volunteerism, collaboration, and open communication between citizens and city leadership.
- Quality of Life: From our parks and recreational facilities to our family-friendly amenities, Tega Cay offers a lifestyle that really is “the good life” with small-town charm. I will work to protect and enhance these features so our city remains a place where people love to live, work, play and raise their families.
- Safety: I will work to ensure our public safety systems remain strong so our city continues to be secure and welcoming.
Does your interest in serving on the City Council stem from a personal interest or goal? Is there something in particular you hope to accomplish while serving on the City Council, and why is serving on the Council important to you? Please elaborate.
Running for office has never been on my bucket list; however, my deep love for Tega Cay and my commitment to serving our citizens’ best interest compelled me to join the race. I was asked repeatedly by neighbors and friends to get in the race to provide an alternative to the current candidate choices. I realized that with my experience, skills, and dedication, I could help preserve the city’s strengths, address its challenges, and ensure a bright future for all who live here. An area where I believe Tega Cay could improve is in ensuring transparency and minimizing potential conflicts of interest in city decision-making. While the City Council must make difficult decisions regarding policies and programs, it is important that all decisions are made with fairness, integrity, and the best interests of the community as the first priority,
Please list any areas you believe the City of Tega Cay could improve upon:
I believe that city council and city staff could do a much better job of researching and using benchmarks of successful small-mid size cities that have faced similar challenges as Tega Cay and thrived through them. I have seen first hand what kind of mistakes are made when council and city staff use insufficient information to make decisions. I believe that as part of council and as mayor I will lead the city to do thorough research before any decision is brought before council so that the members of council and our citizens have as much information as possible.
The City Council must render decisions regarding the implementation of policies and/or programs that may be somewhat difficult. Are you willing to take on the responsibility of making decisions that are in the best interest of the public even though they may be somewhat difficult?
Absolutely, it is what council members are voted in to do.
What do you believe is the single most compelling issue facing the City of Tega Cay?
I believe the single most compelling issue facing the City of Tega Cay is ensuring that proposed developments are carefully evaluated with comprehensive impact assessments and clear financial plans. It is essential to maintain transparency and prevent potential conflicts of interest, so that these decisions are made fairly and in the best interests of both the city and its residents.
Please tell us about any other activities, specialized skills, knowledge, or professional experience that would contribute to your effectiveness in serving on the City Council.
As covered above, I believe that both my work and personal life experiences bring a level of honesty, trust and integrity that will help ensure the voices of the Tega Cay residents are heard and actioned. My three years on the city planning commission has prepared me well for the main issues and opportunities we face in our community. I am not naive and I know this will be a challenging role, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that I will always have this city’s interests in mind and act with transparency and integrity.
Many are concerned about the growth within Tega Cay. What’s your plan to help ensure we maintain a small town feel while continuing to grow appropriately? Is there anything you’d want to tell us about yourself and why the people of Tega Cay should vote for you?
I have learned a lot during my time on the planning commission, and have a strong understanding of what the citizens of Tega Cay desire in our community. One of the main reasons I am running is due to the fact the commission is only a recommending body, cannot influence the city decisions directly and is often overruled by council. Listening and learning from our citizens has been a gap in our growth, and as Mayor I will bring back a strong voice to ensure our growth is organic and desired by our citizens. As pointed out in this question, growth of any kind is critical and one of the main attributes I bring to this election is absolutely zero conflicts on growth and the numerous real estate decisions made by our council. I encourage everyone to consider this and do your own research on what potential conflicts there are if a mayor was also an active real estate agent in the same community they were elected to represent. If the solution is to recuse oneself, then why have a council person that could not vote the majority of the time?
I believe that people should vote for me because I have nothing to gain by running and serving as your mayor. I do so out of a desire to represent the best interest of the citizens of Tega Cay. I will always listen and act on your behalf, and I am proud to be an active part of this community. I have shared my priorities, my experience and my goals and I am confident I will deliver for the citizens of Tega Cay as your mayor…conflict free with every vote I cast.
