The Week 7 slate of high school football in the area delivered lopsided victories, crucial region wins, and high-scoring affairs, highlighted by South Pointe’s continued dominance and significant statements from Rock Hill and Indian Land.

Stallions Stroll to Shutout Victory

South Pointe (6-1) kicked off the week on Thursday night with a decisive 41-0 rout of York (2-5). The Stallions’ defense pitched a shutout, suffocating the Cougars’ offense while the South Pointe attack was efficient in moving the ball and finding the end zone, maintaining their position among the state’s top teams.

Bearcats Take Control of Rivalry

In a key Friday night matchup, Rock Hill (5-2) pulled away from rival Nation Ford (3-4) for a commanding 30-14 victory. The Bearcats utilized a strong ground game and timely defensive stops to control the clock and keep the Falcons at bay. The win improves Rock Hill’s position in the region standings.

Warriors Remain Unbeaten

Indian Land (7-0) continued its undefeated run, steamrolling Catawba Ridge (4-3) in a convincing 34-7 decision. The Warriors’ defense proved stingy once again, limiting the high-powered Copperheads’ attack to a single score, while the Indian Land offense put up four touchdowns to secure the blowout win.

Northwestern Edges Fort Mill in Offensive Duel

The highest-scoring game of the week saw Northwestern (5-2) outlast Fort Mill (1-6) in a back-and-forth thriller, 56-40. Despite the loss, Fort Mill put up its highest point total of the season. However, the Trojans’ offense proved too explosive, ultimately pulling away late to secure the victory.

Lancaster Grinds Out Close Road Win

Finally, Lancaster (4-3) secured a hard-fought 20-13 win on the road against Dreher (2-5). The Bruins relied on a sturdy defense and just enough offense to edge out the Blue Devils in a tighter contest than the other region games.
