Boiling Springs dominated the Fort Mill boys’ volleyball team, winning in straight sets with scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-19. The loss dropped the Jackets to 3-7 on the season. Fort Mill struggled to find its rhythm throughout the match, particularly in the first two sets, where they fell behind early and couldn’t recover. Despite a late rally in the first set that brought them within one point at 20-19, the Bulldogs held on to seal the victory. The team is at home tonight against Blythewood and are on the road at Indian Land this Thursday for another regional matchup.
In other local sports news, the Fort Mill girls’ tennis team improved to 5-0 on the season with a decisive 5-1 victory over Northwestern. Standout performances came from Kendall McCarty, Molly Goodson, Avalon Stevens, and Smriti Kirubakaran in singles, with Sofia Burger and Ellie Corbet securing the doubles win. Meanwhile, the Fort Mill girls’ golf team fell to Catawba Ridge 163-177. Brooke Mehlhouse of Catawba Ridge led all golfers with a one-under par 35. Fort Mill’s top finisher was Lauren Venino, who shot a 41.
