The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets continued their dominant start to the season Friday, defeating the Lancaster Bruins 38-7 to improve to 4-0. The win marks the best start for the Yellow Jackets under sixth-year head coach Rob McNeely and the first time the program has won four games in a season since 2017.
Fort Mill’s offense was led by quarterback Quinn Kelly, who threw for three touchdowns. Running back Broden Mitcheson added two rushing touchdowns.

The Yellow Jackets’ defense was equally impressive, holding Lancaster scoreless until the final quarter and forcing multiple turnovers, including an early interception.
Fort Mill opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Kelly to Deveian Southward, followed by a 52-yard field goal from Noah Hardy. Kelly connected with Gray Patterson for a 6-yard touchdown in the second quarter, and Mitcheson scored on a 1-yard run to give the Yellow Jackets a 24-0 halftime lead.
After a scoreless third quarter, Kelly found Parker Dewolfe for a 55-yard touchdown. Mitcheson added another score on a 15-yard run in the fourth quarter. Lancaster’s only points came on an 85-yard rushing touchdown.

Fort Mill will look to extend its winning streak next week as it opens conference play against cross-town rival Catawba Ridge.
