Emily Hofmann of Tega Cay has been named to the Dean’s List at the Georgia Institute of Technology for the Spring 2025 semester, earning recognition for her academic performance.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, undergraduate students must achieve a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher. Georgia Tech publicly honors these students as part of its continued commitment to academic achievement and student success.
In addition to Hofmann’s achievement, two students from nearby Fort Mill were named to Georgia Tech’s Faculty Honors List for the same semester:
- Victoria Geyling, Fort Mill
- Shiv Patel, Fort Mill
The Faculty Honors distinction is reserved for students who earn a perfect 4.0 GPA for the term.
Georgia Tech’s recognition programs, including initiatives such as Transforming Tomorrow: The Campaign for Georgia Tech and the student achievement platform Gold Letters, aim to support and spotlight the academic efforts of students across the country.

Thomas Hyslip lives in Tega Cay with his wife and daughter. After 27 years in the U.S. Army and Federal Law Enforcement, he retired to pursue his passion for teaching. Tom is now an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of South Florida.
