Charles John Lieske, age 82, of Tega Cay, SC, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, peacefully at home. There will be a service for family and church friends in honor of his life on his birthday, Saturday July 19, 2025, at ten o’clock at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fort Mill. He was born in Queens, NY, as the first child of the late Charles Harold Lieske and Genevieve Cecilia Lawler. He graduated from high school from PS 57 in Queens, NY and attended Union College in Barbourville, KY, just long enough to enjoy a cup of coffee. He went on to join the US Air force, serving four years in the Strategic Air Command. He went on to have a successful 40+ year career in financial services as an institutional stock trader, starting in Manhattan and moving to Charlotte, NC in 1986. He survived the loss of many close friends and colleagues in the attacks of September 11, 2001, and retired from Interstate/Johnson Lane shortly thereafter. In retirement he enjoyed reading, planning and cooking Sunday dinners for the family, and spending time in the mountains. He is loved by his wife of almost 60 years, Sandra Jean (Delzell) Lieske: his two children Charles D. Lieske and Craig E. Lieske, sibling Richard S. Lieske, and grandchild Morgan E. Lieske. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bruce and Steven and both parents.
