Nation Ford High School has bolstered its athletic department with the hiring of four new head coaches across its girls lacrosse, baseball, girls tennis and softball programs, the school announced recently.
Greg Allen will take the helm of the girls lacrosse team, bringing extensive experience from his previous roles coaching both boys and girls lacrosse at South Mecklenburg High School. Allen is also noted for his work in developing travel and recreational lacrosse programs throughout the Carolinas, fostering foundational skills and promoting the sport’s growth.
Nation Ford alumnus Josh Corley returns home to lead the baseball program. Corley began his coaching career with the Falcons before gaining further experience at Ardrey Kell High School and most recently at Catawba Ridge High School. His deep ties to the community and proven track record in player development are expected to guide the program.
The girls tennis team will be led by Adam Grynberg, a former collegiate tennis player at Towson University. Grynberg’s competitive background and experience as a skilled instructor at the Rock Hill Tennis Center, where he has worked with youth players, are anticipated to benefit the team.
Finally, Shelby Sosebee has been named the new head softball coach. A Charlotte native, Sosebee was a standout player at Olympic High School and Belmont Abbey College. She further honed her coaching skills as a graduate assistant at the University of Tennessee while coaching at Knoxville Catholic High School, bringing a blend of athletic expertise and academic achievement to the Falcons.
“We are excited about the additions to the coaching staff at Nation Ford High School,” said NAFO Atheltic Director Bryan Dillon. “All four demonstrated a thorough understanding of the sport they will be coaching and a commitment to developing the student-athletes at Nation Ford to be well rounded individuals both athletically and academically. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish as Falcons.”
